Return & Refund Policy
Universal Primates
Effective Date: 15/04/2026
At Universal Primates, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, transparency, and customer satisfaction. Due to the unique and sensitive nature of selling live primates, this Return & Refund Policy outlines the terms governing all purchases.
1. Final Sale Policy
All sales of live animals are final and non-returnable.
For the safety, health, and biosecurity of our animals, Universal Primates does not accept returns once the primate has been delivered, collected, or transferred to the buyer.
2. Health Assurance
We take every reasonable step to ensure that each primate is healthy at the time of transfer:
- All animals undergo pre-delivery health assessments.
- Veterinary documentation or health certificates may be provided upon request.
- Buyers are strongly advised to arrange an independent veterinary examination immediately upon receipt.
3. Limited Health Guarantee
Universal Primates offers a limited 48-hour health guarantee, subject to the following conditions:
- Any health concern must be reported within 48 hours of delivery or collection.
- The claim must be supported by a written report from a licensed veterinarian.
- The condition must be proven to have existed prior to transfer and not caused by post-delivery factors.
Failure to notify us within this timeframe voids any eligibility for consideration.
4. Refunds & Replacements
Refunds or replacements may be considered at the sole discretion of Universal Primates and only under the following circumstances:
- Verified evidence of a serious pre-existing medical condition.
- Submission of all required veterinary documentation within the stated timeframe.
Where applicable, Universal Primates reserves the right to:
- Offer a replacement animal, or
- Issue a partial or full refund, depending on the situation.
5. Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds, returns, or exchanges will not be granted in the following situations:
- Change of mind after purchase
- Inadequate preparation, facilities, or experience
- Allergic reactions or personal preference issues
- Stress-related conditions after delivery
- Improper handling, feeding, or environmental care by the buyer
- Shipping delays or circumstances beyond our control
6. Deposits & Reservations
- All deposits made to reserve a primate are strictly non-refundable.
- Deposits confirm buyer commitment and remove the animal from public availability.
7. Shipping & Risk Transfer
- Universal Primates ensures that all animals are prepared and handled with care prior to dispatch.
- Once the animal is transferred to the buyer or a third-party shipping provider, all risk and responsibility pass to the buyer.
8. Buyer Responsibility & Compliance
By completing a purchase, the buyer confirms that:
- They have the knowledge, capacity, and facilities required to properly care for a primate.
- They understand the long-term commitment involved in primate ownership.
- They are in full compliance with all local, national, and international laws and regulations governing the ownership of exotic animals.
Universal Primates shall not be held liable for any legal issues arising from unlawful ownership.
9. Limitation of Liability
Universal Primates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the purchase, handling, or ownership of any animal.
